What is used
The site currently uses storage for authentication and features you request, such as language, appearance, family selection and the beginner guide. It does not use advertising cookies or visitor analytics. We do not load external fonts or an external receipt scanning service. No consent banner for advertising or analytics is shown because those services are not present.
Storage on your device
If you enable Remember this device, IndexedDB stores a nonextractable device key in ausgaben-vault-device-v1 for automatic vault unlock for up to 30 days while you are signed in. Your vault password and recovery key are never stored there or in cookies. The key remains usable by this website on this browser, so only enable this on a private device. Locking the vault, signing out or clearing site data removes the remembered key. Expired keys are rejected and removed on the next check, browser storage is not erased by a background timer.
expenses-theme stores your light, dark or system preference. ausgaben:appearance:v1:* stores a local copy of appearance settings. ausgaben:guide:v1:* remembers the progress or dismissal of the beginner guide. expenses-demo-v1 stores changes to the sample household in the demo. These localStorage entries remain until removed or replaced; they are separate from cookies and do not have an automatic expiry.
The receipt reader may cache its language files in browser storage to avoid downloading them repeatedly. These are recognition resources, not receipt photographs. Your browser may also cache ordinary website resources. Demo records are kept on your device and are separate from your signed in household.
Your choices
Use the language and appearance controls to change preferences. You can remove cookies and site data for ausgaben.ch in your browser settings. Doing so signs you out and may reset the demo, guide and appearance. Blocking sign in cookies prevents authenticated features from working. Browser settings can also limit storage; the app does not override them.
If we introduce optional tracking or another feature requiring consent, it will remain disabled until the necessary choice is offered. You will be able to withdraw that consent as easily as giving it. The privacy policy explains who operates the service and how to request information or deletion.
